As a wizard in the AI era, here’s what you need to cultivate:
1. Cherish Your Mana
- Trim Your Inputs: Don’t dump irrelevant info on AI—spend your mana wisely
- Divide and Conquer: Break big tasks into smaller ones, consuming mana incrementally
- Mana Management: Know when to use large models (high mana cost) vs. small models (low mana cost)
2. Extend Your Casting Range
- Choose the Right Model: Pick a model with sufficient casting range for your task
- Context Compression: If range is limited, use AI to compress context first
- Memory Techniques: Learn to extend “memory” with summaries, notes, etc.
3. Master Your Magic Spells (Prompt Engineering)
Even with enough mana and range, you need the right incantations:
- Clear instructions
- Proper formatting
- Defined goals
A good spell lets you cast the most powerful magic with minimal mana.
